269 – Snow in Mid October?

Sure enough, yesterday it was snowing, and quite hard here! Now the roads are still a bit too warm to coat, but my lawn was white by 5pm last night. It was downright saddening to see it, when right now all I’m looking for is some nice weather for the next few weeks before I put my Vette away for the season.

That, and tomorrow my friend Dave, my brother and I are supposed to be going to see a UCONN Football game. The bad news is, it’s supposed to rain. Maybe we’ll end up tailgating and watching the game at my house. When we buy football tickets months in advance, it’s always a gamble if the weather will cooperate.

Other than that, it’s been another incredibly busy week. Every night, there’s been something going on after dinner with meetings, work on other peoples computers.. etc. The first time I see it slowing down is maybe on Sunday.

I’m still playing around with Google Wave, and finding it interesting. It’s a great productivity tool, if it’s used between a bunch of people, but right now, until they release it completely, there are few if any people I know using it.

Well, I’ve said enough for now… on to something funny. Some of these you may have seen, others maybe not. They’re from my friend Mike H:

PONDERISMS

I used to eat a lot of natural foods untill I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Gardening Rule: When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable  plant.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

Never take life seriously Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Have you noticed since everyone has a phone camera these days no one talks about seeing  UFOs like they used to?

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again

In the 60s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out?"

Who was the first person to say, "See that chicken there? I'm gonna eat the next thing that comes outta its butt".

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him?

If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle

Have a wonderful weekend all…!

Whoa. Shnow already? That's nuts.

We would like to see some here this year -- we got none at all last year.

I was glad to see the Huskies won their game. My Hogs let the Florida game slip away (actually, the officials helped a lot). But, regardless of the horrible officiating on a couple of key Florida offensive plays, had our kicker nailed his two missed field goals we would have won by three instead of losing by three. Grr...
