477 – I’m Going to Build an Ark!

Well, it’s rained every day since we got back from vacation. Saturday was the best day, with rain very early morning, and late evening but so little sunshine it’s weird.

Friday night, I had a wonderful dinner with friends. Saturday, we spent about 5 hours car shopping for my wife and she finally found one she likes. A 2012 Honda Civic EX. Thank goodness, as she’s VERY hard to please when it comes to cars. We pick it up on Tuesday.

As for vacation photos, IMG_2603 the one at right is Labadee, Haiti, a beach day. Royal Caribbean owns a huge part of land there and converted it into a beach paradise, complete with 5 beaches, outdoor cooking areas where the ship’s crew cooks all kinds of great food right there for you.

There’s also a roller coaster ride and a real long zip-line over the water called the Dragons Breath.

There’s also an area where IMG_2607 locals sell their
wares (see picture to right, click any one of them to ‘embiggen’). From wood carvings, to T-Shirts, walking sticks to masks, they have it and all hand made.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip, and many people who we met on this cruise are going again on one next May. Not sure if we’ll go along, we’ll have to see what happens.

Have a wonderful week all!

Hi Dave ~~Good luck building that Ark
It must stop raining over there soon
surely - it is Spring isn't it?
Thanks for your comment - I am just as happy being able to blog as you and others are glad to see me back.
Glad you got a few chuckles.
Take care, Very Best Wishes, Merle.

I always loved the Civix EX.

That cruise company is smart to buy its own land. I'm sure several of them do that, but I just hadn't thought about it much.

My first cruise stopped in Labadee and all there was to do was banana boat and jet ski, enjoy the one beach and watch the crew play soccer on their tme off.
Okay bud, so who's kidding who, you'll be going on at least one more cruise before next May.

i personally enjoyed Labadee when we went, and yes, all the cruises have bought their own island.

Hope you got to take out your Vet!
