208 - Still Waiting for Spring
It was finally sunny today, but a measly 40 degrees here today. Is Spring coming?
We had a wonderful Easter, with the whole family here and wonderful food and company. My daughter made a great desert called Mud Cake, and it was awesome. We opened a bottle of our very special Chateau Prieure Lichine 1999 Margaux for dinner today (it was also our anniversary today), and it was as great as it's always been. I have only 2 bottles remaining. Wish I could get more.
Oh, I bought a new monitor on Thursday from Newegg.com. It's an Asus 24" monitor and it's HUGE and it's beautiful!
I had a wonderful breakfast on Saturday with friends from my last big job at The Torrington Company, where I worked for 11 years. These people are like family, and it's so nice to see them a couple times a year for breakfast. Everyone agrees that working for "The Big T" was the best job they've ever had, and they agree they'll never work at a place like that again.
And now, a funny:
An engineer dies and reports to the pearly gates. St. Peter checks his dossier and says, "Ah, you're an engineer -- you're in the wrong place." So the engineer reports to the gates of hell and is let in. Pretty soon, the engineer gets dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell, and starts designing and building improvements. After a while, they've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and the engineer is a pretty popular guy.
One day God calls Satan up on the telephone and says with a sneer, "So, how's it going down there in hell?" Satan replies, "Hey, things are going great. We've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next."
God replies, "What??? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake -- he should never have gotten down there; send him up here." Satan says, "No way. I like having an engineer on the staff, and I'm keeping him." God says, "Send him back up here or I'll sue." Satan laughs uproariously and answers, "Yeah, right. And just where are YOU going to get a lawyer?"
Have a wonderful Monday!

Hmm I wonder if your daughters dessert is the same one that I use to make called mud pie? A cream cheese layer, chocolate pudding layer, whip cream, topped with chocolate shavings?
It's quite nippy here, don't think we're even at 40, dreary and cloudy. Heading out to do the 2 airport run, hope the rain holds off.
Glad you had a nice Easter :-)
