152 - Christmas Shopping

I had today off for Veterans day, and my daughter and I went Christmas shopping. As of tonight, all I have to do is get something for my mom (I know what she wants and I can get it here in town) and I'm DONE!!!!

Boy does that feel good to say!!!

I really enjoy shopping with my daughter. She's so much like me. We both have the same taste in clothes be it for women or men, and we don't spend a lot of time shopping in a store that obviously won't have what we want.
We left early this morning, and got back around 4pm after visiting 2 malls and the Co-Op at UCONN. Now, I can sit back and listen to everyone else's shopping horror stories! *chuckling*
Normally, we don't finish our shopping till maybe the day before Christmas. While my wife may need to shop for people (including me), she's on her own. *S*

Other than that, not much else new as of now.

Here's today's funny (Mark, bet you haven't heard this one!)

A tourist in Vienna is going through a graveyard and all of a sudden he hears some music. No one is around, so he starts searching for the source.
He finally locates the origin and finds it is coming from a grave with a headstone that reads: Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827. Then he realizes that the music is the Ninth Symphony and it is being played backward! Puzzled, he leaves the graveyard and persuades a friend to return with him.
By the time they arrive back at the grave, the music has changed. This time it is the Seventh Symphony, but like the previous piece, it is being played backward.

Curious, the men agree to consult a music scholar. When they return with the expert, the Fifth Symphony is playing, again backward. The expert notices that the symphonies are being played in the reverse order in which they were composed, the 9th, then the 7th, then the 5th.
By the next day the word has spread and a throng has gathered around the grave. They are all listening to the Second Symphony being played backward.
Just then the graveyard's caretaker ambles up to the group. Someone in the crowd asks him if he has an explanation for the music.
"Oh, it's nothing to worry about" says the caretaker. "He's just decomposing!"

Have a great Hump-Day!

Nice job on the all-day shopping. With a five-year-old, we have to shop in much shorter bursts.

Great joke! Thanks.

Congrats on getting so much shopping done in such a short time! Usually i hate shopping with other women, as they dawdle so, so i know what you mean. Also, i detest shopping, so i try to get it done as fast as possible. *grin*

That's one of my favorite jokes, you know how i love puns!

Yours,

michelle ('lil o)

Hi Dave ~~ Great photos of Fall colors and your baby is put to bed. Glad your MIL got good reports. Enjoy the jokes.
Thanks for your comments and glad you liked the Big Wheel story Vicki sent me.
We had a really great time eogether when Peter and Warren were here for a week, and had a trip to the coast on the Great Ocean Road, stayed a night with my daughter and family as their farm backs on to the GOR. So we all enjoyed that, and saw a cousle of other cousins. They left here yesterday
and were going to see Canberra, capital of Oz, then off home.
Good on you getting all your Christmas
shopping done. I have most of mine as I get things all through the year.
Take care, Best wishes, Merle.
