227 - The Weathermen here Stink!
Friday night, it was supposed to rain, and it did.
Saturday, it was supposed to rain in the afternoon. I had to work at our auto club's cruise night, and because of the forecast, I kept my Corvette home. After starting to work, doing the DJ duties for the evening (and trying something new, I bought a 1/8th to 1/4" adapter for the sound cable to get to my notebook PC, and played all the music from my notebook PC, and it worked fantastic! Everyone had a great time... except it was GORGEOUS outside. Bright sunshine, fluffy white clouds... and my Corvette was home.
Sunday, we were putting on a car show for a local convalescent home in my town, and when I went to see my mom this morning, the clouds were threatening and the forecast called for rain in the afternoon.
Again, I took my truck to the show, got set up (I was doing DJ there too), and waited for the awful weather. The clouds broke, the sun came out, and it was GORGEOUS!
Two evenings of sunshine, and my Vette stayed in my garage. All because I don't want to get rain on it. (yeah, silly I know)
I got home from the show Sunday afternoon, and immediately took my Vette out.
Other than that, I went to see a friend on Saturday morning from the place I used to work, as he had some computer problems. I've got a lot of work ahead of me with some of his computer problems, but I'm working on them.
On to a funny for today:
The top 10 George Carlin Quotes:
- “Something is wrong here: War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the resume of a supreme being. This is the kinda (expletive) you’d expect from an office temp with abad attitude.”
- “I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older; then it dawned on me – they’re cramming for their final exam.”
- “Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?”
- “Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they?”
- “I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, “Where’s the self-help section?” She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.”
- “Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone will clean them?”
- “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” (my personal favorite)
- “How come when it’s us it’s ‘an abortion,’ but when it’s a chicken it’s an omelet?”
- “The best thing about getting old is you’re not responsible for remembering things anymore. Even important things. ‘But it was your daughter’s funeral.’ ‘I forgot!’ You can even make believe you have Alzheimer’s disease. It’s a lot of fun. You can look around the dining room table and say, ‘Who are you people and where is my horse?’
- “Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man… living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money.”
Have a great Monday!

That's a drag about the (expected) rain. I've lived in three different regions of the U.S., and in none could we truly rely on the forecast.
Every time I see a 'vette on the road, I think of your car. Do you have dual exhaust with two pipes under each side of your license plate? What's that called?
It's just dual exhaust split into two pipes apiece just before the exit. Tough to keep clean too.. *laughing*
HELLO DAVE... That is what a car cover is for.. Drive the darn thing and cover it up if it rains on it. If you keep that up winter will be here and you wont get any enjoyment out of it.. hmmm that would just be sad.. Brother had a trans am tricked out like The Bandit
back in the day. He spent so much time pampering it he didn't drive it much.. he died young in a car wreck and never and the car was sold.. NEVER wait until tomorrow.. I am just sayin'
: )
