344 – A Long Week
Those following my vacation blog will have to wait till Monday for the next installment.
Having not worked a full week in 4 weeks or so, this has been a very long week!
I’ve been busy every night after work too it seems. Last night, I was in a meeting of our Car Club, trying to pound out a new set of bylaws for us. It’s not as easy as it seems! Luckily, I had bought a book of “Roberts Rules of Parliamentary Procedure”, which was a great reference.
Hopefully, I’m going to see Iron Man II tonight with my son and friend Dan. It should be good as I enjoyed the first one a lot. Anyone seen it yet?
Also, I’m going to start soon making plans for our once a year trek to Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough! I’m getting in the mood for Lobster for sure!
No plans yet for the weekend.. hopefully some rest will fit in there.
On to something funny:
Signs You Are No Longer a Kid
You can live without sex but not without glasses.
Your back goes out more than you do.
You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.
You buy a compass for the dash of your car.
You are proud of your lawn mower.
Your best friend is dating someone half their age ..... and isn't breaking any laws.
You call Olan Mills before they call you.
Your arms are almost too short to read the newspaper.
You sing along with the elevator music.
You would rather go to work than stay home sick.
You constantly talk about the price of gasoline.
You enjoy hearing about other people's operations.
You consider coffee one of the most important things in life.
You make an appointment to see the dentist.
You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.
Neighbors borrow your tools
People call at 9 p.m. and ask, "Did I wake you ?"
You answer a question with, "because I said so!"
You send money to PBS.
The end of your tie doesn't come anywhere near the top of your pants.
You take a metal detector to the beach.
You wear black socks with sandals.
You know what the word "equity" means.
You can't remember the last time you laid on the floor to watch television.
Your ears are hairier than your head.
You talk about "good grass" and you're referring to someone's lawn.
You get into a heated argument about pension plans.
You got cable for the weather channel.
You can go bowling without drinking.
You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it.
Have a wonderful weekend all!

Hi Dave ~~ You have had a busy week, hope the cold is better as that doesn't help. Glad you enjoyed the Fork story and the Commandments joke
Thanks for your good wishes about my scan etc. Take care my friend,
Regards, Merle.
Yes, I have seen Iron Man 2, and it is worth it. Those who said that the beginning was slow have a brain the size of a peanut. Some of us enjoy a little character and story development. In fact, I think ever since the first Xmen movie, the opening character development scenes in superhero movies have become opportunities for beautiful cinematography and other techniques from old-fashioned filmmaking.
Oh, and after being in a fraternity in college, I know all too well how difficult it is to hammer out any kind of rules changes. I don't envy you that.
Mark, the problem with most SuperHero movies is the second movie is mostly about his love life, not about him as a SuperHero.
Think back at all the other movies...
